In this unit the students will explore how solids and liquids are influenced by temperature. They will investigate the effects of heat on solids and liquids and begin to develop an understanding of how energy flows through simple systems. The children will be active participants when they work together in small groups and the class groups to predict and pose reasonable evaluations of experiments. They will be effective communicators when they presented their predictions and understandings in labeled illustrations.
